Yep. Onyx! Who are we? What do we do? How did we get here?!
Who are we?!
We’re a team of people who simply LOVE health and fitness. It is our lives, not our jobs (cue your reaction; “they always say that”, but to us, it genuinely is), and we can’t wait to meet you all.
How will we achieve this?
We have an awesome team, and that team will be offering CrossFit sessions which promote weight loss, strength, stamina, power, flexibility, to name a few. We’re also offering yoga and pilates to balance things out (I mean come on, it's all about a balanced lifestyle!).
The crème de la crème is our nutrition bar, serving up many a delight, including high protein smoothies, prepared meals for breaking the fast, brunch or lunch, or simply for just snacking on. Did you know, we’re also AMAZING at making tea and coffee. We’ll put the kettle on.
Well, because we love it, and you will to! We’ve been working in the health and fitness industry for over 12 years, seen many a fad come and go, learnt many things, gained lots of experience, and we want to share this (and tasty food) with you guys.
But why should I do CrossFit or Yoga, you say? Whats wrong with just plonking up and down on the treadmill, you say? Nothing. Nothing at all! ANY exercise is FAR better than sitting on our backsides, wishing we ‘could’ do more exercise. That’s the difference with CrossFit and yoga vs plonking that treadmill (and frankly, treadmills are boring!). You’ll be wanting, gagging in fact, not wishing, to do MORE exercise! The bond of new friendships and the feeling of belonging to something like a community of like minded people means the next CrossFit or yoga session couldn’t come soon enough. Exercise will become a valued part of your lifestyle, rather than something ‘you ought to do’. Weight loss will become easier. Your strength and flexibility will improve like never before. Your stress levels? Apart from when you hear the word burpee, they’ll fall off a cliff!
It’s easy to say (everyone does), but our passion and drive to provide you with the best possible experience is what sets us apart from our competition (or so our clients say anyway!).
What will we offer?
Not to repeat ourselves (and bore you), we’ll be offering CrossFit memberships, which will include a variety of session types (CrossFit’s definition is constantly varied, functional movements executed at a high intensity.. phew!). We’ll be offering yoga memberships, which will include pilates, meditation, and just time to breathe! We’ll be offering meal subscription services, as well as damn good smoothies, coffee, protein brownies (these are YUM! We’ll try not to eat them all).
Did we also mention that for those who just want to zone out and train alone, throw some weights around (NOT LITERALLY!), or smash a Wattbike session, don’t worry. We’ve got you covered, too.
“Ok. Now I’m hooked! When can I start?”
We’re currently working all hours to get our facility ready for our new tribe of like minded people. We are aiming for mid October, but if you sign up on our website here, we’ll keep you all updated on how things progress.
“Oh, and why the name Onyx?”
Well, the definition of ‘Black Onyx’ is:
“The energy of strong support, stamina, and determination to help one persevere.”
