The Compound Effect: Small wins, big results

You’ve probably heard the phrase, “small things done consistently lead to big results.”
It sound's boring, but simply put, it works, and that’s the compound effect in action.
You may have read the book "The Compound Effect" by Darren Hardy (if not, purchase a copy!). Darren shares the notion that if the nose of a plane is pointed only 1 percent off course, it will ultimately end up about 150 miles off course! Such is the case for your habits.
A single poor habit, which doesn't look like much in the moment, can ultimately lead you miles off course from the direction of your goals and the life you desire. Thankfully, the converse is true for habits you want to adopt as part of normal life.
It’s not about overhauling your habits overnight. It’s about the small, seemingly insignificant choices you make every day:
Choosing to train, even when you’re tired,
Logging your meals,
Stretching for 5 minutes,
Getting to bed 10 minutes earlier.
These things might not feel like much in the moment. But stack them up over weeks and months? That’s where the magic happens.
Think about a career or a university degree. You don’t start a degree expecting instant results. You know it’ll take at least three years of hard work before you even begin your career.

Track your habits!
One of the most effective ways to stay consistent and actually see the compound effect in motion is by using a daily habit tracker or calendar.

Tick off small wins each day, whether it’s a workout, a walk, or hitting your protein target. This small action builds momentum and gives you visual proof that you’re showing up. It’s simple, but powerful.
Key Takeaways
You don’t need to be perfect.
You just need to be consistent.
It's rare you'll get an immediate result, so trust that the process works.
Remember, it’s not the big, dramatic changes that transform us. It's the small habits, repeated daily. That’s the compound effect. Keep stacking those wins. You’re doing better than you think.
